KZN ECONOMIC Development, Tourism and Environment Affairs MEC Siboniso Duma has been accused of disrespecting KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
This after Duma, who is also KZN ANC chairman, was seen hijacking the moment when Dube-Ncube was expected to lift the Webb Ellis Cup during the Springboks' trophy tour in Durban on Saturday, 4 November.
When the programme director announced that Dube-Ncube would lift the cup with Springbok player Eben Etzebeth, Duma shocked many people when he showed up and lifted the cup with Etzebeth. The premier was left clapping her hands.
Many people have since accused Duma of using his political power as provincial ANC chairman, while others accused him of undermining Dube-Ncube allegedly as she is a woman.
KZN EFF chairman Mongezi Twala said EFF KZN condemned the deliberate undermining and continued bullying of the premier by Duma.

“EFF in KZN condemns MEC Siboniso Duma for the persistent bullying and undermining of KZN Premier Nomusa Dube just because she is a woman.
“In the most recent event, where the Springboks were parading the World Cup trophy at Durban City Hall, Duma is seen displaying his misogynist character and completely embarrassing the premier in front of the entire nation,” he said.
Twala said the ANC is once again showing its true colours that it allegedly has no respect for female leadership and authority within its ranks.
“They sold the people of KZN a lie when they pretended as if they supported a female to be the premier of KZN. It is quite clear now for South Africa to see that Duma is intolerant and completely disgusted to be led by a woman,” he said.
But when called for comment, the premier's spokesman, Bongi Gwala told Daily Sun they didn’t want to comment on what happened on Saturday.
“What we can say is we thank KZN people for welcoming the Springboks and the leadership collectively,” he said.
Duma’s spokesman, Ndabe Sibiya also told Daily Sun they had no comment, except to state that Duma was working very well with the premier.
