FIVE men were gunned down in a mass shooting.

This after another mass shooting, where seven men were also killed on Tuesday, 24 October.

The men were killed while sleeping in an RDP house at Langalibalele in Inanda, Durban on Wednesday, 25 October.

It's alleged the men, travelling in a Toyota Quantum, first went to a nearby house, where they shot a woman in her hand and then proceeded to the RDP, where they shot all five men who were asleep in the head. The victims were aged between 26 and 35.

Resident Nhlanhla Mkhize (33) said gunshots woke him.

"I didn't go out because I was scared. But later, when most people were outside, I went to the scene. It was sad to see so many people killed terribly. I didn't know them, but I heard that they were renting in that house," he said.

Two bodies were found under a bed, one in the kitchen and two others in a toilet.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) spokesman Prem Balram said residents contacted them at about 11pm after hearing several shots from the house.

"One of the callers provided a WhatsApp PIN location to the scene. Reaction officers were immediately dispatched and, on arrival, discovered the Inanda police in attendance," he said.

KZN police spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker said on Wednesday, 25 October, at 9.30pm cops in Inanda received a report of a shooting at the Tambo Plaza area, Amaoti.

"When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of five men in an RDP house. The deceased were found in the house with multiple gunshot wounds. It was established that all five deceased, who are aged between the 26 and 35, were in the house when they were shot by unknown suspects who arrived in a getaway vehicle," said Naicker.

"From information gathered at the scene, we can't rule out the possibility that the motive is drug related," said Naicker.
