ATHLETES will run for a good cause.
On Sunday, 31 December the Katlehong Athletics Club (KAC) will host a half marathon (21km) in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.
The event is part of the Charity Club Run initiative to collect school shoes and raise funds which will be channeled toward helping needy children.

The chairwoman of the club, Nthabiseng Mosheqane, said the purpose of the Charity Club Run is solely to collect school shoes.
She said athletes who will take part in the event are encouraged to donate school shoes on the day of the half marathon.
Nthabiseng said those who wish to contribute money to buy school shoes are also welcome to do so.
She said the run will start from Ramokonopi East, Sontonga Road, opposite Ramokonopi Clinic.
"Last year, participants donated a total of 245 pairs of shoes and money which we later used to buy additional school shoes.
"Five primary schools benefited from the donations," she said.
Nthabiseng said the demand for school shoes has increased due to numerous external factors, including unemployment for most of the kids' parents.
"This year we aim to collect over 300 pairs which will be distributed during the Take a Child Back to School campaign.
"We want to restore dignity to the needy children, and to make sure they feel special and eager to go to school," said Ntahbiseng.
She said they appealed to athletes, walkers, gym fanatics, and residents to support the event.
