EFF president Julius Malema has likened himself to the late American popstar, Michael Jackson.
Speaking during an engagement with media practitioners in Sandton, north of Joburg on Friday, 19 April, Malema said he was not a regionalist politician.
He was responding to a question whether he was worried about not getting more support in his home province of Limpopo.
He said he didn't care about Limpopo or Gauteng but cared about Mzansi.

“I'm not a regional leader. I'm international. I can walk into any country, you'll think Michael Jackson, the showstopper has arrived in the whole continent. So, you're telling me about Limpopo, what, what. What's that you want to reduce me to (Mogoboya Nelson) Ramodike and (King Patrick Ramaano) Mphephu,” he said.
Ramodike was the Chief Minister of Lebowa Bantustan while Mphephu was the first president of the bantustan of Venda.
Malema said he was a South African citizen, and his interest was the country.
He reminded the media that he was Cosas president when he was 17 years old.
Malema told the gathering the country has a president who is in trouble with the law.
He said President Cyril Ramaphosa can do whatever he liked but the Phala Phala game farm saga wouldn't go away.
A brazen $580 000 burglary at his farm took place in 2020.
“Let me tell you, there was a case opened by that [former spy boss Arthur] Fraser. There's a case number. They now have to go and say we decline to prosecute him so that we can prosecute him privately,” said Malema.
He said because of political hatred, people would rather talk about VBS and Malema instead of Phala Pahala.
“Give me a case number against me on VBS. Not a single law enforcement officer has ever even sent me an SMS to ask us about VBS, including those fake Hawks. This is because they can't find anything political or ideological to faulter the EFF,” he said.
