WILL the Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) expel its secretary-general and head of security, Marshall Dlamini?
This after he was found guilty of assault by the Cape Town Regional Court on Friday, 12 April.
Dlamini has been convicted of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, as well as malicious property damage, for hitting a policeman in Parliament after the State of the Nation Address (Sona) in February 2019.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and claimed that he had been tipped that EFF leader Julus Malema’s life was in danger.

Dlamini told the court that he had reacted that way because he was on high alert that Malema was going to be assassinated with a poison injection.
Delivering her judgment, Magistrate Nasha Banwari did not accept Dlamini's claim that he was protecting Malema from an assassination threat.
Dlamini’s sentencing has been postponed to 31 May 2024.
Now all eyes will be on the party as to what step they'll take against Dlamini as per the EFF’s code of conduct, which states: “Schedule B (1.20) of the EFF's Code of Conduct and Revolutionary Discipline calls for strong action to be taken against any EFF member who is found guilty of serious crime by a court of law.”
This is a developing story.
