TOGETHER, we can rescue South Africa.
This was said by DA leader John Steenhuisen while addressing party members during the launch of Rescue South Africa Tour at Eersterust Community Hall in Tshwane on Wednesday, 10 April.
Describing the feeling of despair, Steenhuisen said: "We are in an imaginable tragedy in a country drowning in despair. The root cause of this despair is the Union Buildings because on top of that hill, the ANC looks down on the suffering of South Africans," he said.
He said seven out of 10 of young people can't find work.
"A country without reliable electricity and water. A country with 84 people murdered every single day. Our mothers, daughters, and grandmothers don't feel safe on the streets of South Africa," he said.

Steenhuisen blamed the ANC for the nation's woes, stating that their time has passed.
"The ANC will not get majority on 29 May elections. What South Africans can't afford is to get rid of ANC and bring in a government which is even worse," he said.
Steenhuisen said that there must be a joint mission of a new governance based on opportunity, freedom, and security for all the citizens.
He warned against radical policies like to those in Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
He said that under a multi-party charter, DA brings its experience with a good track record of governance and record accountability to the table.
Steenhuisen rejected President Cyril Ramaphosa's job creation promise and said he will never create millions of new jobs.
DA Gauteng premier candidate Solly Msimanga revealed plans to fix the province's infrastructure and to get rid of corruption.
"It's time for thieves to go. We're on a mission to rescue Gauteng," he said.
Msimanga said the DA will make sure that the 1994 dream of a better life becomes a reality.
