THE Gauteng Department of Community Safety conducted operations in and around Jukulyn, the deadliest section of Soshanguve section, and successfully apprehended a criminal.
With the help of the SAPS, crime wardens, known as Amapanyapanyaza, and a tracker company, a red GTI Polo sedan with a North West registration number was recovered. The vehicle has been reportedly causing trouble in the area.
It was reported to the Rietgat police by the community for robbing residents in Soshanguve, Tshwane.

Colonel Noxolo Kweza, spokeswoman for the SAPS, said the suspect was caught in possession of nine laptops and 35 cellphones and immediately arrested.
The suspect appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 16 April, and remanded in custody next appearance on 22 April.
Ward 27 councillor, Bongani Masina told Daily Sun residents are appreciative of the collaboration between government agencies to fight crime in Jukulyn.
He said this followed Deputy Minister of Justice, Thabang Makwetla's visit to the area in December 2023 for door-to-door community interactions and a community imbizo was held by Deputy Minister of Police, Cassel Mathale.
"We've seen more police presence, stops and searches, and operations Okae Molao and Shanela. We know and understand that crime won't be eradicated overnight, but are pleased with progress made thus far," Masina said.
According to Masina, the community has always been willing to work together with the police to help solve criminality in the area.
"There's still fear and a lack of trust from the community due to the police's untrustworthiness,” he said.
