EVERY DAY, thousands of commuters make their way to the inner city of Joburg - whether for work, school or leisure.  

It's a rat race at the bustling public transport hubs across the city.

Daily Sun reporters raced to Joburg from Soweto and Pretoria - comparing price, travel time and the overall experience. What they found was shocking:  

The reporters travelled by Rea Vaya bus, taxi and train.  

While some rail networks remain in utter disarray, this experiment delivered a surprising experience on a Metrorail train.
