‘Inkabi’ killed in shoot-out with cops!

A SUSPECTED taxi inkabi was fatally wounded during a shoot-out with police in Durban, KZN on Monday, 23 January.

According to Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the hitman was on the list of the most wanted suspects.

Netshiunda said cops from the rapid rail police unit, as well as the provincial investigations and tracking task team, conducted an operation in Sea View, where they cornered the suspect (35) at a house on Braid Avenue.

“Upon noticing the police, the suspected hitman, who was in the taxi industry in the South Coast area, fired shots at them and a shoot-out ensued. The suspect was found to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds.”

Netshiunda said that a pistol with a filed off serial number and ammunition were found in his possession.

“The suspect was being sought for six taxi-related murders in Scottburgh, and two in Umbumbulu,” said Netshiunda, adding that the Independent Police Investigative Directorate was informed of the incident for further investigations.
