IMPROVEMENT of infrastructure, youth and education are some of the priorities the IFP will focus on when they win the province.
IFP premier candidate Thami Ntuli said the state of the province's infrastructure is a deathtrap and no one is happy about it. Ntuli delivered the party’s provincial manifesto at Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Stadium in Ulundi, northern KZN on Sunday, 7 April.
He said his party has been going around the province to listen to what people want.
“As much as we're aware of what people are facing daily, it's crucial to sit down with them and listen to what they really need. So, we've formulated the 15 points to top our manifesto as urgent to help address people's need,” said Ntuli.
He said the state of the roads in the province and infrastructure falling apart has led the IFP to put much needed improvements at the top of the list.

“To ensure we grow our province, we need to improve infrastructure. Our roads are filled with potholes. That can't be right. These issues need to be addressed.”
Ntuli also said it's crucial that they also put focus on education and the youth in the party's manifesto.
“If we take over, we'll invest money in our education system and fight the high rate of unemployment. Our people aren't working while they qualify because everything is collapsing under the corrupt [ANC] government,” he said.
IFP NEC member Reverent Thulasizwe Buthelezi said the party rallies behind Ntuli to take over to turn things around.
The late Inkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi's son, Inkosi Zuzifa Buthelezi, called for unity within the party if it wants to win the elections.
“I call on leaders to be exemplary. They mustn't have beef with each other because people look up to them, so if they're fighting, what must people do? I urge all of you not to form camps within the party,” said Buthelezi.
IFP president Velenkosini Hlabisa said the party supports the manifesto delivered by the premier candidate.
