THE police in Mmametlhake need urgent help to reunite William Kgaladi Mametsa with his family.

According to Colonel Donald Mdhluli, William (73) from Marapyane was last seen by his younger brother, who lives with him, on Sunday, 14 January at around 12.30pm.

"His younger brother stated that they were together in their house when a herd of cattle entered their yard," Mdhluli said.

He said according to this family member, they both moved the herd of cattle out of the yard.

During this time, his elder brother allegedly told him that he would move the herd of cattle a few kilometres away from their yard.

Since then, the older brother has not returned home.

"A search operation was conducted with other family members, friends and relatives in the neighbourhood, but to no avail," he said.

The family members also said that he usually went to a local liquor store to drink alcohol but always returned home.

"The matter was then reported to Mmametlhake police but till now his whereabouts are unknown.

"On the day he went missing, he was seen wearing a black T-shirt, green trousers, blue and black boots and a yellow cap. He is of average build and has a grey moustache," Mdhluli said.

Police are asking anyone with information that could help locate him to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Samson Maloka, on 079 499 5506 or call CrimeStop on 08600 10111.

Alternatively, members of the community can send information via the MySAPS app. All information received will be treated confidentially and callers can choose to remain anonymous.
