EVENINGS have become a nightmare for Yvonne Ndzovela.

This is because for the past two years, she believes her dead husband Derrick pays her an unpleasant visit every night at 8pm.

The 41-year-old from Zonkezizwe in Ekurhuleni believed she has been tormented by her late husband’s spirit since 2020, over a decade after his death.

Derrick was 41 when he died in 2009 along with their eight-month-old son.

Yvonne said he burnt himself in the shack following a fight.

“We had a minor misunderstanding, which escalated very quickly and he hit me. I had never seen him so angry. I feared for my life, even more so when I realised he brought a bottle of petrol home,” she said.

Yvonne said she called her parents, but their attempts to resolve the matter failed. “My parents took me to the police station to ask for help to take the baby because he was refusing to give him to me. On our way back, my shack was on fire. My baby was also inside,” said a sobbing Yvonne.

She said she found a way to move on over the years. But her husband’s spirit is tormenting her.

She told Daily Sun he unlocks the doors, turns on the radio and throws lunch boxes on the floor. And she is certain it’s her late husband because of the height of the shadow.

Yvonne said she recently broke up with her boyfriend as he was not comfortable in the house.

“ All I want is for Derrick’s spirit to rest in peace,” she said.

Yvonne’s mum, Mirriam Selepe (67), said her daughter has been going through a lot for the past two years.

“She sometimes calls me in terror. I go to her and find pots opened and dishes on the floor,” said Mirriam.

Yvonne is pleading for prayers and gifted pastors to come forward.

Daily Sun contacted sangoma Grace Ndlovu, who said, “The man’s spirit is angry. She needs to go to his grave and ask for forgiveness.”
