IT was a very special day for gogo Ramadimetja Dikgale and her family members, friends and neighbours.

This was on the occasion of her 105th birthday, which she celebrated on Saturday, 23 December at her home in Unit D, Mankweng outside Polokwane, Limpopo.

This was after her children decided to organise a party to celebrate her life and thank her for raising them.

His son Malema (59) said they organised the celebration to thank their mum for raising them well and being the best parent.

“This was the only way to thank her and also to celebrate her life while she is still with us. She did everything she could to give us the best life and we're grateful to her for that,” he said.

Her daughter gogo Raisibe Segage (70) said it was a special day for her and her mum. We are blessed to have her because she is our support and strength.

"We will follow most of her advice so that we can also live long,” she said.

Gogo Ramadimetja had 13 children, others have passed away and she's left with only. She also has 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Her neighbour gogo Pheladi Lediga (85) said they could not wish for a better neighbour.

"She's a good neighbour with a good heart. We always come to her for advice in times of need. God really blessed us with her," she said.

Gogo Ramadimetja can still walk, see and hear. She's also healthy and doesn't take any medication.

She couldn’t hold back her tears of joy when she had to speak. She danced and sang.

She said she had lived so long because she believed in God.

“This is the best thing that ever happened to me and I never thought this day would come. I’m grateful to everyone who made this day special and I thank God for being with me until I turn 105. This is a big milestone,” she said.
