ALL gogo wants is to see herself flying to Durban for a comrades marathon.
Gogo Johanna Peteke (76) of Mothutlung near Mmakau in North West has been an active for years.
At the age of 60, she started playing soccer and participating in runs, walks and games. She said her biggest dream is to fly in an airplane.
Gogo Johanna told Daily Sun that she has over 50 medals from different games and plans to get more.
She said she started over 15 years ago and she was recruited by her neighbours to join the active lifestyle.
“I was home cleaning, and two women came to me and recruited me to join Gogo’s Golden games,” she said.

She said at the time, she was always stressing about being alone.
“My children had all moved out and my husband left me years ago. I didn’t know what I was living for and those Gogo’s gave me hope,” she said.
She said from that day, she never looked back.
“I now play as a striker in our team and every day you will find me playing with my Gogo squad,” she said.
She said that she enjoys travelling with buses to different provinces, but her biggest wish is for her to travel with an airplane to Durban for the Comrades Marathon one year.
“I have never been inside an airplane and that is one of the things I pray God for. I would like to travel to a marathon with one,” she said.
Gogo’s friend Sina Matjila (80) said she is the one that introduced gogo to the fitness lifestyle.
“I am very proud of her because I am 80 and I know I will leave a baton to her. What motivates us is that we become strong people that are 80 years of age but are not like us," she said.
She said that Johanna always tells her about her dream of being inside an airplane going to participate at Comrades Marathon one day.
