The GCRA Bursary Awards is an annual ceremony where the top performing pupils in the basic education sector in the province are awarded funding and support for their higher education in various career fields.
The department has partnered with 80 GCRA business partners to advance youth development programmes in the province under the slogan, "Celebrating the Investment in Gauteng Youth".
The department is funding 4 000 students at universities and TVET colleges.

The MEC also thanked all the partners who work with the department to change the lives of young people for the better.
"We have over eight partners working with us. Each of these partners agree that they need to do something in their corner to make sure we change the lives of our young people," said the MEC.
