FREE STATE Premier Mxolisi Dukwana is expected to monitor the start of the 2023 matric exams throughout the province on Monday, 30 October.
Dukwana will be at Kagisho Comprehensive School in Bloemfontein to give moral support to pupils on the first day of their much-anticipated matric final examination.
Education MEC Makalo Mohale will be at Ipopeng Secondary School in Winburg, while Health MEC Mathabo Leeto will be a distinguished guest at Lebogang High School in Welkom.
MEC for Cooperative Governance, Traditional Affairs and Human Settlements Toto Makume will visit the Iketsetseng Technical School in Sasolburg,
While MEC for Finance, Gadija Brown will visit Thabo Vuyo Secondary Rouxville in Xhariep District and MEC Dibolelo Mahlatsi for Public Works and Infrastructure will be at Phehellang Secondary School in Parys.
Education MEC Makalo Mohale promised that the province would deliver credible exams.
"It's all systems go that tight security measures have been put in place to circumvent any irregularities during exams," Mohale said.
About 35 653 full-time and 8351 part-time candidates will sit for the 2023 matric final examination.

"Senior managers of the department and other stakeholders will also visit various schools
as part of exam monitoring. The department wishes all learners in the province the best of luck," he said
MEC Mohale called on parents and members of the community to put their hands up and support the Class of 2023.
"Our June and September preliminary exams are so impressive, and they give us hope that our learners will perform even much better in their final exams," said Mohale
Premier Dukwana wishes the class of 2023 to keep the province in position one with an excellent Pass rate.
The pupils across the province have just signed a pledge as an undertaking to abide by rules to avoid any irregularities. Free State has been ranked in position nationwide since 2016.
The matric exams are expected to end on Wednesday, 06 December.
