THE four women accused of spiking late Prince Lethukuthula Zulu, Tshegofatso Moremane, Gontse Tlhoele, Margaret Koaile, and Portia Mmola, will appear at the Joburg High Court for pre-sentencing on Friday, 6 October.

They were acquitted of murder and possession of drugs.

However, they were convicted of theft.

The court found that the state failed to prove the source of the drugs that were found to have been ingested by the deceased and could not prove that any of the women were found to be in possession of drugs.

The state further failed to prove that the deceased involuntarily took the cocaine, and they were therefore acquitted on the murder and possession of drugs charges.

Judge Moleboheng Mdalana-Mayisela said all the accused were found not guilty of the murder of Prince Zulu.

"The state has failed to give evidence that the accused unlawfully and intentionally killed the deceased," she said.

She added that the accused number one, Tshegofatso Moremane, allegedly had consensual sex with Prince Zulu.

Accused number four, Portia also had consensual sex with Nkosi Msimang.

She said the accused had stolen items, which include a TV set, cutlery and a blanket, which were found in possession and were stolen from Prince Lethukuthula Zulu and Msimang.

Judge Mdalana-Mayisela said the accused also stole money from Prince Zulu and Msimang.

She said accused number four, Portia, also stole a laptop and R60 000 inside the laptop bag.

Prince Lethukuthula was found dead at his home in Joburg on 6 November 2020.
