According to the police, four trucks were going uphill from the Mbombela towards Machadodorp, while the other truck travelled towards Mbombela in the opposite direction.

It is alleged that two trucks, a light delivery truck and a sedan with five occupants, stopped the trucks and instructed the drivers to take their personal belongings before setting the trucks on fire.

Meanwhile, eleven trucks were set alight between Monday and Wednesday in KZN and Limpopo.

Police Minister Bheki Cele is set to brief the media regarding the recent attacks on trucks.
