FORMER Ekurhuleni, mayoral committee member for Community Safety, Mthuthuzeli Siboza, has died at the age of 62.
Mthuthuzeli from Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni died at the Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital on Tuesday, 26 September, after a short illness.
The wife of Mthuthuzeli, Ivy Siboza, revealed the last moments with her husband.
Ivy said on Saturday, 23 September, the family threw a birthday party for her as she was celebrating her 60th birthday.
She said she and her husband were dancing and having fun.
“It was like we were getting married. My husband whispered to my ears and told me the lovely words, sofa silahlane, ‘till death do us apart,” Ivy said.
“Little did I know that in a few days, he will be gone,” she said.
Ivy said she would live to cherish the moments and years she spent with Mthuthuzeli.

“He was a loving father who always put his family first, beside that he was a public figure.
He spent most of his time serving the community and worked in various departments in Ekurhuleni Municipality and was an ANC stalwart,” Ivy said.
Ivy said there were never dull moments in the house when her husband was around.
“Mthuthuzeli was an artist. He loved to play guitar and piano in the house. When he played Oliver Mtukudzi’s song Todii, everyone in the house used to sing with him. He may be gone, but he will always be remembered as a loving husband.”
The funeral service of Siboza will be held at Vosloorus Civic Centre on Sunday, 1 October, from 8am to 12pm.
