'CYRIL MUST GO!'
A bold statement written in red on a white banner carried by an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member in the Joburg CBD.
The member was part of the large crowd wearing EFF T-shirts carrying placards, chanting and singing struggle songs on Monday, 20 March.
The crowd had gathered at Noord Taxi Rank as they began the national shutdown protest.
During the protest, several shop owners who did not want to speak to the media could be seen closing their businesses as the crowd approached.
One of the organisers, Victor Senyatso told Daily Sun, that they will continue to march through the city and mobilise more people.

“We are out in the inner-city mobilising residents, walkers and anyone who wants to participate in the march," he said.
Victor said they would continue to march peacefully despite several arrests that have been made.

According to Police Minister Bheki Cele, 87 people were arrested in connection with public disturbance, with Gauteng sitting on 41 arrests.
EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu called out Ramaphosa for undermining the country.
“He has no respect for the laws of this country and if you do not have respect for the laws of this country, you will not have the respect from EFF fighters.
"As far as we are concerned, Cyril Ramaphosa is no longer the president of South Africa,” said Shivambu.
