ECONOMIC Freedom Fighters (EFF) have gathered at Church Square in Tshwane on Monday morning, 20 March.

Wearing their red regalia, they sang struggle songs and waved their party flags, saying down with President Cyril Ramaphosa and load shedding.

The party's national spokesman, Sinawo Tambo, said they were expecting their members to come out in their numbers.

“We are gathered here to demand the resignation of President Ramaphosa who has presided over the misery of our people in South Africa. The massive unemployment, 11,8 million people are unemployed since his term of office began, and 87500 people have been murdered,” he said.

Tambo said they expected marchers to be peaceful and not be intimidated by the deployment of the soldiers.

"This a sign of a dictatorship in terms of how I understand. So, we want our people not to be intimidated. They must come out across South Africa and protest in the streets,” he said.

"Our call is that Ramaphosa must go. We need radical transformation which includes the return of the land to the people," he said.

Niehaus also said that no soldiers must be deployed against the people.

Meanwhile, protesters in Hammanskraal, also in Tshwane, have barricaded roads with burning types and stones.
