Daily Sun understands that two associations are at war over the newly built Letsheng Mall Taxi Rank. The taxi rank is expected to be opened soon.
A resident told Daily Sun that over the weekend, there was also taxi violence in the area that left three patrollers dead.
"Today's shooting is believed to be revenge from the associates of the three patrollers who were shot dead recently. A lot of people are now fearing to even get closer to this mall because of the taxi violence. Some of them need to get there to hand in their CVs for job applications, but the violence is stopping them from doing that," she said.
The newly built shopping mall is situated on the borders of the City of Joburg and Emfuleni, and its geographical boundary is of the City of Joburg.
This is a developing story.
