A NIGHT out at a pub and grill in Hebron, just outside Tshwane ended in a hail of bullets in the early hours of Monday, 25 March.
This after unknown gunmen fired shots at customers who were leaving the establishment after it had closed.
Witness Bobo Maloka said the gunmen's vehicle had been waiting in the parking lot for more than three hours.
"Three men jumped out of the car, but only two of them began shooting, while the other one appeared to be observing the area. Patrons started scattering and running for their lives, he said.
He said the gunmen did not shoot at random, but straight at their targets and fled once their mission was accomplished.
Daily Sun visited the establishment on Monday evening and found it operating.
The owner told the SunTeam that he never thought his place would be targeted by gunmen. He said he had just closed the pub and was ready to leave when he heard the sounds of a rifle.
“I was so afraid, I ran away. I'm still traumatised by the experience because no tragedy has occurred since I started operating this establishment," he said.

He said he believed he was being targeted, but he came to the conclusion that the shooting had nothing to do with him or tarnishing his establishment's reputation.
"I don't know how much this trauma is going to take for me to heal because I don't want to lie, I'm not okay and I won't be any time soon because what I saw damaged me," he said.
According to North West police spokesman Brigadier Sebata Mokgwabone, Hebron police are investigating two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder after three men and two women were shot in front of a pub in the early hours of Monday morning.
“According to reports, the victims were leaving the pub at 1am when a white Mercedes-Benz approached their white Toyota Corolla. The occupants of the Mercedes Benz then shot at the victims," he said.
He said two victims, aged 34 and 40, died instantly, while three were injured.
He added that no arrests have been made at this time and the motive for the shooting is yet to be determined. “Investigations are underway,” said Mokgwabone.
