COPS have launched a manhunt for the culprits who shot four people at Nicky's Tavern in Mabopane, Tshwane, on Tuesday, 19 March.
Ndondo Ngoma, Themba Lawrence Makhubela and Dede Mokale were killed, while Kagiso Ramou was rushed to hospital.
A witness said he spotted a BMW sedan.
"Three males stormed into the yard and aggressively opened fire on three patrons," the man said.
He said two of the suspects used rifles and another used a pistol. He said they began by shooting one adult male sitting outside with his friends and turned on the other who sat next to him.
"They also shot the other male while he was still outside. He tried to run inside, but they pursued him and continued to shoot at him while he lied down to finish him off with many bullets."
He said the suspects fled the scene wearing balaclavas.

"Tshwane really needs intervention in terms of confiscating illegal guns in the area. We can't continue to raise our children in a society like this," he said.
According to Gauteng police spokesman Mavela Masondo, three of the victims were pronounced dead on the scene, while one was rushed to the nearest medical care facility in a critical condition.
He further said approximately three suspects entered the tavern and shot at the patrons without saying anything.
"Police have since opened a case of murder, with three courts, and a case of attempted murder," Masondo said.
He said motive for the shooting can't be determined at this time.
He urged anyone with information that can help in the investigation or apprehension of the criminals to contact the nearest police station or phone CrimeStop on 08600 10111.
