MURDERED Beverly Hills teen Relebohile Mofokeng was laid to rest at the Vanderbijlpark Park Cemetery in the Vaal on Saturday, 9 March.
Family and friends shared memories of the 19-year-old and many said Relebohile didn’t deserve to die like that.
Evaton police arrested a 28-year-old man and his 29-year-old girlfriend for allegedly torturing Relebohile to death.
According to a source close to the case, before getting arrested, the girlfriend allegedly opened a rape case against the boyfriend then handed herself over to the police for killing Relebohile.
The source said the boyfriend was charged with murder and rape, while the girlfriend was charged with murder and assault. The pair is expected to appear in the Sebokeng Magistrates Court on Thursday, 14 March.
Relebohile and her four friends had gone out to party on Friday night, 1 March in Beverly Hill in Evaton. It's alleged the friends accused her of stealing R2 500 while they were at their friend’s house and tortured her to death.
Relebohile's mother, Ntombi (51) said she was heartbroken as she never imagined her daughter would allegedly be attacked by her own friends.
“I know my daughter was not a naughty child and she didn’t deserve to die in that manner. It is even painful that she died at the hands of her friends who picked her up to groove," she said.

“My child’s life was not R2 500 and she had big dreams for her to die for such a little amount of money. I hope the killers receive harsh punishment for their actions. My child died a painful death, she couldn’t even defend herself against a 28-year-old man his 29-year-old girlfriend's beatings," she said.
Evaton police spokeswoman, Constable Thulisile Msibi said: “On Saturday, 2 March, Evaton police received a complaint of murder in Beverly Hills. Upon their arrival, they saw a woman lying down with a plastic bag next to her body.”
Msibi said the police opened a murder case for further investigations.
“Two suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested and appeared in the Sebokeng Magistrates Court,” she said.
