THE heartbroken family of 17-year-old Rinae Mulokwe is struggling to come to terms with her murder.
Rinae from Vosloorus, in Ekurhuleni, was allegedly shot by two thugs who wanted to rob her of her cellphone on 2 March.
Rinae was with her friends when two armed men demanded their cellphones.
Her elder sister, Ritshidze Mulokwe, said the family is distraught.
She described Rinae as a beautiful young girl who had a bright future ahead of her.

"She never allowed anything to stop her from achieving her goals. She had so many plans and wanted to do so many things. She was in matric at Lethulwazi Secondary School and wanted to study architecture, but her dream was cut short by the thugs who shot her," said Ritshidze.
She said Rinae tried to fight with one of the suspects and managed to run away but they shot her at the back.
"One of them shot her and they ran away without taking her cellphone. She was rushed to the hospital where she died from gun wounds on her arrival," said Ritshidze.
She said the family is struggling to come to terms with the loss.
"We've lost a precious person who was courageous. They could have assaulted her, but for them to shoot her and didn't even take her phone," she said.
Ekurhuleni Police spokesperson, Captain Neldah Sekgobela confirmed the incident.
