A 28-YEAR-OLD former lover appeared in the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrates Court, Free State on Monday, 20 November.
This after he allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old daughter of his ex-girlfriend on Saturday, 11 November, and allegedly raped her several times.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring said a missing persons case was registered at Phuthaditjhaba cop shop, which led to a toddler being found on Thursday, 16 November at Bluegambosch.
The young girl was found alive after an intensive police and community search.
The victim's mum told Daily Sun outside the court that the accused went to her home and bought a lot of alcohol for her dad.
"When he realised that my father was extremely drunk, he kidnapped my daughter. We had been looking for her everywhere until my father recalled that the accused visited them mysteriously in my absence," she said.

She said she was told cops found him on the street.
"He's the one who showed cops where he left the girl. She's recovering from that traumatic incident. He's a bitter ex. We broke up three months ago. He used to be abusive to me; kidnapping my daughter was an attempt to hurt me," she said.
The angry villagers have been waiting patiently for the outcome of the court.
The accused was charged with kidnapping and rape, and the case has been postponed to Monday, 27 November, for a formal bail application.
