TWO childhood friends allegedly fought over a chair at a tavern on Sunday, 2 June, and one stabbed the other to death and handed himself over to the Evaton cop shop.
Lehlohonolo Moshodi (25) from Evaton West in the Vaal was stabbed several times all over his body.
The victim then died at the Levai Mbatha Local Clinic.
His heartbroken mother, Mamokete Moshodi, told Daily Sun that on Sunday night, her child arrived home and told the family that he argued with his childhood friend over a chair.
“He decided to come back home trying to avoid his friend after they had fought,” she said.
Moshodi said her son told her that he was going to the shop and would be back to eat his supper and minutes later, she heard people screaming at the shop.

“When I got to the shop, I first met up with the suspect, and he showed me a knife and said he stabbed my son,” she said.
According to Peter Moshodi (37), the deceased brother, the suspect was hunting down his brother while armed with a knife and other weapons after his brother had left the tavern.
“The suspect waited for my brother at the shop next to his home and during the confrontation, I tried to stop the fight and as Lehlohonolo was bleeding, I let go of the suspect and rushed my younger brother to the local clinic where he died from the stab wounds,” he said
Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said the suspect was arrested on Monday, 4 July, on a charge of murder, and he will appear in the Sebokeng Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 5 July.
