IN a shocking revelation, pupils at two high schools in Springs, Ekurhuleni, have been found carrying school bags filled with bottles of vodka, intending to sell shots to their peers for R2 each.
Other pupils were caught selling space cookies and chocolates laced with dagga, leading to disruptive and unruly behaviour in the classroom.
According to a concerned parent, mixing booze and drugs has resulted in pupils becoming aggressive towards classmates and teachers.
"These are challenges teachers face daily. The influence of these substances makes pupils violent. Parents should join hands with teachers, police and the Department of Basic Education to find a solution," the parent said.

During a search operation at the schools, authorities found a 660ml bottle of Lonesta Vodka, a similar-sized bottle of Smirnoff, packets of dagga, dagga-infused chocolates, Holy pop pin-pops, scissors, a box of matches and space cookies inside the pupils' school bags.
Captain Nelda Sekgobela, spokesman for Ekurhuleni District police, confirmed that the items were seized on Thursday, 25 April.
While no arrests were made, the involved pupils received a stern warning.
Sekgobela said school searches are conducted in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education.
According to Sekgobela, this particular operation formed part of a broader initiative by Ekurhuleni district police and other law enforcement agencies targeting various criminal activities along the busy Paul Kruger Road in Springs.
Some pupils admitted that drug-laced items are commonly sold at their school.
The incident follows a worrying event last September, where approximately 90 pupils from Pulamadibogo Primary School in Soshanguve, Tshwane, were hospitalised after consuming space cookies containing marijuana.
