WHEN Progress Ngwenya returned home from work two years ago, he found the yard where he lived full of people having a party.
He asked to be let in so he could park his car, but other tenants told him to chill and that made him angry.
So Progress went to his room, fetched a knife and allegedly stabbed Ronnie Thabo Molepo (20) to death. Two other people were injured when they tried to intervene.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said: "On the day of the murder, Ngwenya became upset when he was delayed from parking his vehicle. He was told by those at the party that he would not be able to park in the yard as people were still enjoying themselves. Feeling disrespected, he went to fetch a knife and stabbed the victim and anyone who tried to stop him."
Masondo said Progress surrendered to the police several days after being on the run.

"He fled to Joburg and after telling his father what happened, he was handed over to the Hillbrow police, who contacted the Ivory Park police and the case was handed over to the investigating officer Detective Constable Ronald Hlayisani Mabunda who successfully opposed bail," said Masondo.
On Tuesday, 2 May, Progress (31) was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment by the Tembisa Magistrates Court in Ekurhuleni.
Masondo said he was given 15 years for murder and an additional 15 years for two counts of attempted murder, as well as two counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Ronnie's family from Ivory Park extension 2 said they're happy that justice has finally prevailed.
"Ronnie may not come back but at least he will be happy to see that the person who took his life is finally behind bars," they said.
Colonel Baba Mpotoane, acting station commander at Ivory Park cop shop, welcomed the sentence and commended the investigating officer for the good work.
