EFF MP Naledi Chirwa has told political commentator, Tessa Dooms to back off!

This after Dooms told Newzroom Afrika that she thought Chirwa’s apology letter amounted to a cry for help.

This after Chirwa apologised to her party and Mzansi for failing to attend the budget speech on 21 February because her child was sick.

Dooms said Chirwa's letter was extensive than the EFF leadership would assume and that she was putting out a signal to the public about how she felt she was treated without saying so.

“I think it was politically her putting out a signal that she didn’t feel that all her circumstances were taken into account. There was no reason for a letter that long, unless she was trying to make that signal. I do think she wasn’t direct about that, but that’s the implication. I think that it was meant to stir up a response from the public,” she said.

However, Chirwa told Dooms to stop using her name.

She wrote on X: “This is the disingenuousness I loathe with NGO feminists. Opportunistic and void of being sensitive to Black Womanhood. Start your lobby group without using my name, Tessa. Your interest isn’t magnifying black women’s experiences but attacking the EFF for a bank notification. Sies.”

Chirwa said if Dooms was genuine, she would speak about the struggles women face in the workplace which leads them to believe they were underserving and incompetent to achieve anything.

She said: “She would opine about experiences of black women in the revolution who would hold guns on one hand and breastfeed on the other.

"NGO feminists were quiet when [President Cyril] Ramaphosa had his domestic worker beat up. They’re quiet NOW after eating R1 billion for lousy meetings with Cyril in the name of GBV. But they have everything to say about a black woman LIKE THEM, going through self-sacrifice in the interest of revolution.”

Chirwa said the apology was not begging for forgiveness for being a mum but for failing to send an apology through proper channels for absence.
