THE pouring rain was no match for members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

This as the EFF Commander in Chief Julius Malema, presented the party's manifesto at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, 10 February.

He was so determined and passionate in his address that he refused an umbrella which was offered to shield him from the rain.

"Our land and jobs now! Stop load shedding." This was the theme of the EFF manifesto for 2024.

Malema said they have no promises to make, but they have commitments. He said in their manifesto, there is no input from business people. It's a product of the people.

"In our commitment, we are going to take the land and we are not going to pay for it. The majority of the land will be given to women. We will do the distribution of land before the end of 2024," he said.

He said they are going to create a million jobs.

Malema said in their undertaking to end load shedding, they have already assembled a group of engineers who would be integrated into Eskom as soon as EFF takes power. They would immediately deal with the problem.

"We will establish a state security company that will create 1 million jobs," he said.

Malema said under his party's government there won't be tenders. He also said they would reduce VAT from the current 15 percent back to 14 percent. Parliament would be moved from Cape Town to Tshwane.

"We do not recognize Taiwan as a country. We support the one China policy where Taiwan is regarded as part of the People's Republic of China. Taiwan as a country is a product of imperialists," he said.

He said they embrace the struggle by the people of Swaziland who are fighting to end the repressive rule of King Mswati III.

The EFF Leader Malema said people should know that EFF is a national party as they have gained so much support in KZN. He said there are those who thought the manifesto wasn't going to happen after some councillors were fired, but nonetheless, the manifesto happened.

"We fired the councillors who were lazy because we don't have any relationship with people who are lazy and lie. The current councillors must also know that if they don't work, are lazy and lie, we'll fire them too," he said.
