THREE people and a dog were found dead in a house in Greenwood Park, Durban on Monday, 26 February.
Two of the victims were a couple, aged 30 and 37, who rented the house where they were found dead with their dog and a visitor (27).
It's suspected the trio and the dog died from gas inhalation.
KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda said Greenwood Park cops are investigating three counts of inquest after three people were found dead at their place of residence on Rosary Road.
Netshiunda said: "A post-mortem would be conducted to determine the cause of death."
KZN VIP security spokesman Gareth Naidoo said they were informed about the incident after receiving requests for medical assistance.
“Upon arrival by emergency teams, it was established that the family of the victims were unable to make contact and thereafter went to the home and made the discovery,” said Naidoo.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a generator was being used in the home, which due to cable theft in the area, have left residents without power for days.”
A resident and ward committee member, Nkosi Mashinini told Daily Sun the trio rented the house for almost a year, but they didn't know them that much.
He said the couple spent a lot of time together and could always be seen walking together.
"There's a lot of crime in the area. So, I heard that they took the generator and kept it in the house for safe keeping. So, the generator leaked and it's suspected that they were killed by the substance that leaked from the generator," he said.
He said the third dead person was from Ntuzuma and was also renting the house.
"I also didn't know him, but I saw his family when they came to fetch his clothes. They said his name was Musa and he lived there to be closer to work," he said.
