SIX people were shot dead in a suspected drug den in Kwanobuhle, Eastern Cape on Tuesday, 11 July.
Four other people were wounded in the Mdledle Street shooting when three gunmen entered a yard of a house and opened fire.
A neighbour said: "The house is a known drug den and we have always seen people going in and out of there. What happened does not surprise us, because we knew something like this would happen one day.
"We feel that the police are not doing enough to protect us because dangerous people are roaming our streets. We usually report this house to the police. They just come, but they don't arrest anyone."

According to police, five men and a woman were killed, and three men and a woman suffered gunshot wounds in the incident.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said: "It is alleged that on Tuesday evening, 11 July, at about 7.40pm, three unknown men entered the yard and opened fire on people who were on the property or near the house. Two women were shot at the gate. One woman succumbed to her injuries, while the other suffered gunshot wounds.
"Another eight people were shot, leaving five dead and three others injured. The total number of the deceased is six, and four were injured. The injured were taken to hospital. The motive for the massacre is still unknown," she said.
Naidu said a murder case involving six deaths and four attempted murders is being investigated by the provincial organised crime unit in Gqeberha.
"Anyone who can assist police with information about the suspects is asked to contact the provincial organised crime investigation, Detective-Colonel Willie Mayi on 082 697 5914 or CrimeStop on 086 00 10111, or the nearest police station. Informants can remain anonymous, and all information will be kept strictly confidential," Naidu said.
The shooting happened months after 11 people became victims of a deadly shooting in Maqanda Street in KwaZakhele, leaving eight people dead and three injured in January. Another mass shooting in February, that took place in Kwazakhele, claimed the lives of four people and left three injured.
