DR SAM Motsuenyane Foundation has put a smile on the faces of people living with disabilities.
According to the foundation's CEO Themba Mathibe, they helped Refiloe Home for the Disabled in Madidi, North West after they saw the need when they passed there in August 2023.
They unveiled the home and donated groceries on Wednesday, 20 December.
He said the home was dilapidated and they spent more thqn R150 000 to refurbish it. He said it looked neglected and they also bought a lot of things including a deep freezer, two door fridge, washing machine, entertainment system and building materials to renovate the home.
Mathibe said they are busy setting up a vegetable garden. "We are also training the staff for basic firefighting and first aid. The place will be audited for health and safety by Oluchi Business and Training Solutions," he said.
He said the conditions they found were bad and they couldn't ignore it.
"We will continue helping them with different things," he said.
He said as a foundation, they are in the Christmas mood and are happy.
"We felt bad that many people in one home didn't have any entertainment. We donated groceries for Christmas," he said.
