The family of sangoma initiate Eunice Khangale is frustrated by the delays in DNA results.

THE family of sangoma initiate Eunice Khangale (30) from Muswodi Dipeni Village in Malamulele, Limpopo, is grappling with sorrow and frustration.

This is due to the stressful wait for DNA results, which has intensified the family's pain, leaving them longing for answers and closure.

Recently, the family went to the Malamulele Police Station to inquire about the cause of the delay.

Eunice went missing on Friday, 29 December 2022, and the family's grief reached new depths when a corpse believed to be hers was discovered as nothing more than a skeleton.

The remains were found on Wednesday, 9 August 2023, by community members collecting firewood near Green Farm Village.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Eunice's father, Ronald Khangale, expressed his eagerness for the DNA results.

"We were first told that it would take one month for us to get results. But now it seems like it's taking forever. We no longer have hope because we don't even hear anything about the results," he said.

Eunice had been attending a traditional initiation school with her gobela in Green Farm Village.

She allegedly informed her family that she was going to Madonsi Clinic for medication but never returned.

Her father is determined to seek justice, expressing his desire to open a case against the gobela with whom Eunice was living when she went missing.

"I wanted the gobela to get arrested because she made my child get lost, and the police said that we should first wait for results," he said.

The family claimed that a protection order was issued against them by the same gobela who, according to Eunice's father, was involved in her disappearance.

Limpopo police spokesman Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said that the relevant partners were called to the scene where Eunice's remains were discovered. Mashaba said that she was positively identified by her mentor (gobela) and other relatives.

"The postmortem, conducted on 1 September 2023, indicated that both her hands were tied from behind with a piece of cloth and another around her neck. The forensic examination was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for comparison on 5 November of the same year," said Mashaba.
