DEMOCRATIC Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen has warned Western Cape residents not to make a mistake of voting for other parties except the DA.
He said this during the DA’s Western Cape manifesto launch at Huguenot Hall in Paarl on Saturday, 6 April.
Steenhuisen said residents from Knysna didn’t go out to vote and his party lost its outright majority in the 2022 local government but the ANC, Patriotic Alliance (PA) and EFF’s coalition has left residents struggling.
He said residents in the area drank water that had a body inside for two weeks.
The DA leader said if residents vote for parties that want his party to be below 50% in the Western Cape, they may find themselves regretting their actions.

“When the coalition of corruption finally got around to remove the corpse from the drinking water, it was so badly decayed that its arm broke off in the reservoir. The people of Knysna thought it could never happen to them,” said Steenhuisen.
He urged the DA activists to knock on every door and tell the people about what his party has been doing in the province for the past 15 years.
Premier candidate Alan Winde told DA supporters that his party has done a lot in the past five years he was elected as a premier and he expects to do even more.
