MORE than 100 couples gathered on Saturday, 15 October to discuss how to keep their relationships going.

The event called, Rekindle of Love, was held at Gugulethu Community Hall in Cape Town.

Ntombentsha Bambiso, a social worker, marriage counsellor and event organiser, said couples needed to know that everything started with them.

“If you fix yourself, everything goes well. This is because everything you do starts from within,” she said.

Various gospel artists from around Cape Town performed at the event.

Couples told Daily Sun they were happy to get advice on how to spice things up in their marriages.

“What we discussed was true. We sometimes give each other silent treatment and don’t talk about issues,” said Monica Ntshikila (36).

“As couples, we must be open with each other and discuss things.”

Thandi Thoba said the event was awesome.

“We had fun because of the line-up of musicians.”

Thandi said what she and her husband learnt would help them fix some of their shortcomings.

Ntombentsha said couples were often busy with work and other things and forgot about their kids.

“When we talk to them, we shout as we’re frustrated with whatever is going on in our lives,” she said.

Ntombentsha said she was planning another seminar about positive parenting.
