KZN police made a huge drug bust at a lodge in Durban on Thursday, 26 January.
Two men, aged 32 and 46, as well as a 25-year-old woman, were arrested after they were found running a mini drug lab within the premises.
According to Colonel Robert Netshiunda, officers from the provincial drugs and firearms unit conducted a sting operation that was backed up by intelligence information.
“They stormed into a lodge, where three suspects were found to have turned a guestroom into a clandestine drug lab. Almost 12 000 capsules of heroin, 600g of heroin powder and 37 pieces of rock cocaine, with an estimated street value of about R500 000, were found in possession of the suspects,” Netshiunda added.
He added that the suspects would appear in court soon.
