“The safety and security of residents of KZN is important, and motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol will be met with the strict might of the law,” he said.

Netshiunda applauded residents who continued to provide valuable information, leading to the prevention of crime and arrest of suspects.

“Anonymous tip-offs can be relayed by contacting CrimeStop on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS app,” he said.

Resident Nomkhosi Khanyile (40) said she was glad cops were working hard to fight crime, especially during the festive season.

“The way people commit crime, we are even scared to walk around our own neighbourhood. We fear being robbed and even killed. So when cops do such great work, we get happy. I hope they keep these suspects in jail,” she said.
