A 38-YEAR-OLD man was arrested in possession of stolen milk in the Sarah Baartman District, Eastern Cape on Friday, 18 August.

According to Colonel Priscilla Naidu, police officers at Cookhouse Police Station reportedly received a report of theft from a motor vehicle at a garage next to the N10 at about 7.55am.

"On arrival, they were told that about 114 boxes of 1-litre milk were stolen from a truck parked in the garage during the night.

"Officers immediately began searching the area and within 15 minutes arrested a suspect who was in possession of 48 x 1litre boxes of milk, with the estimated value of about  R816 00," Naidu said.

The suspect is facing charges of theft from a motor vehicle and possession of suspected stolen goods.

He is expected to appear in the Somerset East Magistrates Court on Monday, 21 August.
