THE tribal office of Bakgatla Ba Mosetlha Royal Family in Makapanstad in the North West briefed the media regarding the coronation of Kgosi Nchaupe III Makapan.
The royal family briefed the media at Makapanstad Mosate on Monday, 26 June.
Bakgatla Ba Mosetlha Traditional Council headman, Nchaupe Tlhapane, said the long-awaited coronation of Kgosi Nchaupe III is upon us.
He said Bagatla Ba Mosetlha, Royal family, and princes from 36 different villages would be on 8 July.
Tlhapane said Kgosi Nchaupe III is a Kgosi to more than 300 000 tribesmen in different villages.
"This nation is spread over Moretele Local Municipality. There are about one million of its tribe men in the diaspora," he said.
He said that the foundation of this tribe is Kgosi Mosetlha, which was founded in 1600.
Tlhapane said they're expecting nine different Chiefs of Bakgatla ba Mosetlha tribes coming from Botswana and other places in South Africa.
He said they expect former and current ministers and other officials to attend the coronation.

They also expect local municipality officials and district municipality to attend.
Tlhapane said they will display traditional cultural artists such as diturupa and cultural dancers.
"Let it be noted that all our kings and chiefs around have been invited to the occasion," he said.
He said the doors are open for all the friends of Bakgatla ba Mosetlha to attend.
He requested that Bakgatla ba Mosetlha display their traditional cultural outfits on the day.
Traditional council member, Lencoe Makapan, said Kgosi Nchaupe III was gazetted and got a certificate of recognition in 2015.
"We want to have our kingdom as Bakgatla ba Mosetlha like other kingdoms of the Zulu and Xhosa," he said.
Makapan said Kgosi ba Mosetlha is the main Chief in South Africa and Botswana.
He said they have been preparing themselves for all these years and learning how to handle the kingdom.
He said their leadership with the municipality is mature and working well.
