ONE person has died, while eight others sustained injuries after a bus carrying ANC members to a rally in Engcobo in the Eastern Cape had an accident on Friday, 5 March.

According to the Eastern Cape Department of Transport spokesman Unathi Binqose, the accident happened on the R61 road between Komani and Cofimvaba.

"The bus carrying ANC members from Komani to the ANC event in Engcobo allegedly lost power while driving up an uphill road," he said.

Bhinqose said the eight injured had been rushed to the Frontier Hospital in Komani.
