THE mum of a 16-year-old is scared of sending her son back to school after a fight over territory left him with stitches.

The grade 8 pupil at Altmont Technical High School in Protea South, Soweto, was stabbed in the neck by a grade 9 pupil on Wednesday, 19 October, during a fight outside the premises.

The boy told Daily Sun that the trouble started on Saturday when he was assaulted by the perpetrator for walking on his street.

“I was with my friend when we were attacked by this guy and his friends, saying we should not bump into them on their street. Then on Monday, I confronted him at school,” he said.

The boy said after school on Wednesday, the other boy was waiting for him at the gate.

“He said to me, ‘I finally got you. How did you think this was going to end?’,” the boy said.

The victim said the other boy then took out a knife and stabbed him twice in the neck. He was rushed to the clinic by teachers, where he got stitched.

His mum said: “The clinic called an ambulance and he was taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, where they cleaned the wound and stitched it up again. I’m not sending my child back to that school. I will save money and send him back to Lesotho for his own safety.”
