THE court heard that Imanuwela David (39), one of the three Phala Phala Farm suspects, owns a shack at Mountain View in Bela Bela, Limpopo.
He appeared in the Bela Bela Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 6 December.
He told the court that he had acquired the shack almost seven years ago and considered it his house.
"I'm not aware that I'm facing serious charges," he said.
During the court proceedings, he said he had a TV, a chair, and two dogs.
Imanuwela appeared for address verification, formal bail application and court to decide his judgment.
The three suspects are facing charges of theft, conspiracy to commit housebreaking with intent to steal and theft and an additional charge of money laundering to Imanuwela.
The suspects allegedly stole from Phala Phala Farm, a farm owned by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Imanuwela told the court that he is a South African citizen with a passport, and his passport is with the investigating officer.

He said he has relatives in Mzansi and Namibia.
Imanuwela said he has four children living with his mother in Rustenburg, North West. He said he is currently not working but doing part-time jobs.
"I don't have any health condition issues and don't have any qualifications.” He added.
Imanuwela told the court that when he gets bail, he will not disturb the investigations and will not jeopardise the case investigations.
He said his family can manage R5 000 bail.
"There was no scuffle when I got arrested, and I complied. I want to be released so that I can be able to feed my family."
"If I'm denied bail, my family will be affected as at the moment they are now supported by extended family and friends," said Imanuwela.
He said that when he gets released, he will go out and work so that he would be able to pay for his legal representative.
His other two co-accused, Froliana Joseph (30), are out on bail of R5 000, and David Joseph (27) is out on bail of R10 000.
The two siblings, Froliana and David, were also part of the court proceedings.
The presiding Magistrate, Predeshnie Ponnan, postponed the case overnight to Thursday, 7 December, for the investigating officer to continue with his testimony.
Limpopo NPA spokeswoman Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said: "The investigator found out that Imanuwela has many addresses and is failing to confirm which one is permanent resident."
