DANCER and entertainer Zodwa Libram said people who want change should join her.
The popular dancer from Soweto, Joburg, followed veteran actor Vusi Thanda under the African Movement Congress.
The 38-year-old said this was the only party that would bring hope to many South Africans.
Zodwa Wabantu told Daily Sun that she never thought she would find herself in politics.
She said with the current state of the country and the treatment ordinary citizens get, she decided to join politics.
"I told myself, why not use what I can to also have a voice and speak out for my people? So, everyone that wants change should use this opportunity to walk with me," she said.

She said she was contacted by Roy Moodley, the president of the African Movement Congress, who shared the beliefs and vision of the party.
"It was what I stood for, too. It's a party that is all about the citizens of South Africa. You know we have all tried different parties, but they always end up failing us, so with this new home," she said.
Zodwa Wabantu said she has high hopes for the Mzansi people. She said she is ensuring the party is doing right by the people on the ground.
"This definitely means people know what my brand stands for. I will never join a movement that doesn't affiliate with who I am," she said.
She said there is more for her when it comes to politics.
"People can expect to see me holding hands with the AMC, ensuring service is delivered to South Africans. They can expect a lot of groundwork changing and supporting lives through Mr Moodley and the AMC," she said.
"The brand Zodwa Wabantu has been around for over seven years now. We are still loved by the masses, and therefore, it's our time to thank the people who always rally behind us. Now, my brand aims to help and change the lives of those people," she said.
