On a video posted by entertainment commentator Kgopolo Mphela at the SABC video entertainment showcase in Joburg, producers said the singer was a human being just like everyone, and also had real feelings.

“As much as she’s strong and talented, there are other aspects of her life that fail. So, we were inspired by that and decided to write a story. We had to meet her as well.”

The show, Zahara: As I rise, will debut on 4 February on SABC1.

Her fans took to social media to share that they were excited for the singer.

Snenhlanhla Mthethwa @snesh0009 wrote: “I’m happy for her; she really deserves it.”

Then Mary-Jane Explores @maryjaneexplore added: “Oh man, I love this for her.”

Karabo @Kay_147 commented: “Yoh, I’m here for it!”
