BEING a new mum is tough for most mothers out there, but for YouTuber Nozibele Qamngana-Mayaba, the stress was even worse.

The 33-year-old has just given birth to her first child, baby Lumi, and has had a lot to worry about.

Nozibele is HIV-positive, and she had to make sure her child was negative.

"I used to talk a lot about pregnancy and HIV, but not from experience. But when I fell pregnant and it all started - the choice of birth method, the question of whether I would breastfeed or not, the regular HIV tests for Lumi - that's when the fears started to grow. I became vulnerable in a way I never expected.

"There was something about giving birth to Lumi that brought it to a new level. Although science knows it, you know that it’s possible to have HIV-negative kids as an HIV-positive mum.
