YOUNG Ohlotse Modise has made Mzansi proud.
The 10-year-old from Polokwane in Limpopo made it to the top two of the Mini Model World 2023 international competition held in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on Sunday, 25 June.
Her mum, Itumeleng, told Daily Sun she has always known that her baby was a star. She said her daughter used to watch a lot of shows about models while growing up.
Itumeleng said Ohlotse also loves cooking, playing netball, gymnastics, ballet and playing the piano.
"She is the reigning Miss Preteen Mundial South Africa and newly crowned Mini Model World runner-up. It was a proud moment for her as she was the only participant from Africa," she said.
Itumeleng said not only did Ohlotse represent South Africa, but she represented Africa as well.
"I am grateful that she walked the world stage at a very young age, especially as she was the youngest contestant in her category. She managed to achieve any model’s dream of walking on the world stage," she said.

Itumeleng said her daughter lives by the quote: "Practice makes perfect. I work really hard to perfect my craft and I have a very supportive team."
"We really appreciate Mini Model World organisation for trusting her with such a great responsibility and title. I’m also grateful for the opportunity that Miss Teen Universe SA organisation awarded my daughter to represent her country on a world level," she said.
Itumeleng said Ohlotse often gives her friends motivational talks. She said one of the goals she always carries is to let them know that it's important to listen to their parents and leaders as they know better.
