THE feud between Ukhozi FM DJ Khathide “Tshatha” Ngobe and Ngizwe Mchunu, a former presenter at the station, has ramped up.
Their latest run-in has left many shocked as Tshatha refused to be honoured alongise Ngizwe at the Impucuzeko Maskandi Festival.
Tshatha, one of the festival organisers, was due to be honoured alongside late presenter and station manager Welcome “Bhodloza” Nzimande at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 30 July.
The trouble started when it was announced that Tshatha would be honoured. Ngizwe attacked the organisers, saying he should also be honoured.
“Impucuzeko is making a mistake to only honour Tshatha while we were both groomed by the late Bhodloza. They used Tshatha as a tool to start a fight between us. Why can’t Impucuzeko honour Bhodloza first and then after that follow with me and Tshatha,” he said.

Ngizwe and Tshatha presented the station’s maskandi show together for three years before turning into enemies.
An emotional Tshatha said: “It’s painful that every time I’m supposed to be honoured for my contribution, someone compares himself to me.” Tshatha said the same thing happened in 2018 when it was announced that he was going to get a Lifetime Achievement Award at the South African Traditional Music Awards.
“Now I have told them they must stop honouring me because of the noise of someone comparing himself to me is making,” he said.
